COVID-19 Vaccine update

We have had many people calling interested in the COVID-19 vaccine and the process for receiving it. We wanted our patients to have all the information we have at this point. The COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Pfizer has received FDA emergency use authorization. The vaccine is being distributed by the State of Kansas. Currently, the vaccine is being made available for the hospital employees throughout Kansas who care for our hospitalized COVID patients. The next vaccines available will be allocated for community health partners including physician office staff. At this point, we do not know when that will be.

At Blue River Family Medicine, we are not currently taking names or beginning a wait list for our patients. We are awaiting more information from our public health partners and the State of Kansas. As we know more about the process, we will continue to relay the information to keep our patients informed.
